What is .SU?

.su was assigned as the country code top-level domain for the Soviet Union on September 19, 1990. It remains in use today, even though the Soviet Union itself no longer exists, and is administered by the Russian Institute for Public Networks (RIPN, or RosNIIROS in Russian transcription).

Who is Register.su?

Register.su operates under Joint Stock Company "RU-CENTER" Partner Agreement. We register and renew domain names in .su zone for flat fee: $29.95 per year. We operate from New York.

Why should I choose .su domain name?

While most domains are taken in other domain TLDs, many good domain names in .SU are still available. SU domains perform really well across major search engines (google, yahoo etc), like any other domain names in other TLDs.

Where I can read (or print) .SU domain agreements and domain contracts?

Do you guarantee successful registration?

We don't, because domain registration server accepts registration requests 24/7 from hundreds of companies — it's being registered on "first-come, first-served" basis. If you placed an order for already registered domain name, we will process full refund via Paypal within 2-3 business days.

Do you accept credit cards? Paypal?

At this time we accept Paypal payments from verified Paypal members.

Do you accept bank cheque? (US)

Do you provide refunds?

Sorry, all sales are final. Please select domain name carefully. If your domain name was not registered (see whois), please contact Register.su.

How long does registration take?

We usually register domains within 12-24 hours.

Why it takes so long?

There are few reasons: 1. We have to verify order manually over the phone; 2) Send registrant data to Ru-Center; 3) Register domain name; 4) Send username/password to control panel to domain holder.

Can I register .su domain name for more than 1 year?

We've seen many places where you can register .su domain name even for 10 years. In fact, only 1 year .su/.ru registrations are possible under top level domain agreement.

How would I know when to renew? How much would it cost?

We will send you few reminders prior renewal (60 days, 30 days, 1 day). Renewals will cost $29.95 per year per domain name. We do not accept subscription payments at this time.

Can I register more than 1 domain name?

Yes, you can register up to 3 domain names. Sorry, bulk orders are not accepted at this time.

Do you protect customer data? Is it secure to submit an order via www.register.su?

All orders are being processed via 256 bit SSL (secured layer). We do not store any client data on our servers. Registrations are being handled by "RU-CENTER" and protected by international laws. Customer data is private. Payments are handled by Paypal.

Is it possible to hide contact (whois privacy)? How much would it cost?

Yes, it possible. It doesn't cost anything extra.

My website isn't ready. Can I park newly registered su domain name?

Free parking service is included with any domain name purchased through Register.su.

Do you provide additional services, like webmail, dns etc?

We don't. As soon as we register your domain name (usually within 12-24 hours), you will receive username/password to control panel: https://www.nic.ru/en/manager/. There you can manage domain privacy, update whois, dns, create custom records etc.

Can I register my own name servers within .su?

Of course. You can do so within RU-Center control panel: https://www.nic.ru/en/manager/

Where can I host my .su domain name?

You can host it anywhere you wish. We do recommend reliable webhosting services from WestNIC.
